Leaves are changing, temperatures are dropping, and pumpkin spice lattes have arrived at Starbucks. I would say fall is here y’all!
When it comes to decorating my porch for the fall season, I’m all pumpkin and haystacks. It’s the simple things that will make your house look welcoming to any guests or future trick or treaters. For me I start with placing my fall wreath on my door. This year my fabfind came from Wal-Mart, however I found my inspiration at Kirklands.
Then I simply look for mums anywhere and everywhere. If you like all fall colors then get a variety that suits you. I’m a big OU fan and alumni so my mums tend to be crimson and cream colors. Once I find the perfect mums to adorn my steps and porch, I look for pumpkins. I love the big bright traditional orange, but this year I stumbled across these white ones (eeeek)! Don’t be surprised if I find a few oranges to join the bunch.
Just because the temperature is dropping steadily and the wind might be picking up, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t add a little color to your porch.
Finally, I look for pumpkins and haystacks. I love the look of bringing a little of the farm to my home. When you put the whole look together it’s fantastic! I don’t buy super expensive either. Walmart has great flowers, pumpkins, and they even carry haystacks.
To make your front porch fabulous keep these three things in mind:
Decoration for your door
Mums, mums, and more mums
Pumpkins and haystacks
However you decide to dress up your porch for the fall, keep in mind this is your first impression of your home. Make it welcoming but also let it reflect your personality!
